Holiday Brainstorming 2025

It’s not too late to make at least a couple of gifts for the upcoming holidays, or to make something a little special for the holiday parties! (We encourage everyone to have realistic expectations about time and capacity, and to not go overboard… especially the new crafters. We’ve been there and done that, and it’s just not fun.)

Here’s our list of some quick project and materials ideas:

  • If you need to bust out a few projects for gifts, we’ve got Ella Rae’s Cozy Alpaca Chunky, Berroco’s Vintage Chunky, and Juniper Moon Farm’s La Pampa! For the knitters, anything from the Year of Bulky Hats by Kate Gagnon Osborn will take a single skein; for crocheters, the Chunky Ribbed Twisted Cowl by Rebecca Langford is a great option.
  • If you need a little bit of a glimmery project, there are lots of one-skein possibilities with Mirasol Inka. I’m making the Blue Shimmer Lace Scarf (crochet) with a single ball of the black colorway; you can get 4 of the the French Twist scarves by Caro in the City out of one ball!
  • We’ve got Armé, the glittery carry-along yarn from Laines du Nord - and it’s the perfect option to dress up a simple pattern like the Shoulder Cozy from Churchmouse Yarns or the Dragon Belly from Mijo Crochet.
  • Ornaments are also a fun little project that can brighten windows, trees, cubicles, or tables at this time of year. Crocheters with leftover odds and ends hanging around will enjoy the Stained Glass Christmas Ornament by Kimberlie Goodnough; I have a feeling that lots of our shop folks will enjoy the Cat Christmas Ornaments by Amy Gaines.

(Links and product pages for the online shop will go live over the weekend.... our apologies!)

These groups have inhabited this area for thousands of years; their descendants have remained here, actively practicing and re-establishing traditional activities and beliefs, to this day.
