CLASS: Intro to Hybrid (Tunisian) Crochet
Class date: Sunday, September 15, 1-3 PM
Class fee: $45 (includes class materials)
Hybrid crochet (also known as Tunisian crochet or afghan stitch) is becoming hugely popular thanks to designers like Toni Lipsey, Natalie of Detroit Knots, and Aiobhe Ni. A mix of knitting and crochet skills, it provides a unique textured fabric with a right side and a wrong side. Whether you knit or crochet, this class will introduce you to some basic techniques used in hybrid crochet and introduce you to two stitches and at least one stitch pattern using the two basic stitches (maybe two if we’re making really good time!).
After this class, you’ll be able to:
- Make a starting chain
- Work a Tunisian simple stitch and a Tunisian purl
- Work ribbing
- Identify and count basic hybrid stitches
Skills required: None - though experience in either crochet or knitting will be helpful
Materials required:
- None - a basic hybrid hook and cotton yarn are provided and paid for with your registration fee
