An Introduction to Counted Cross-Stitch

Sunday, October 25, 1-4 PM

Instructor: Nancy Torrance

In this 3-hour class, you'll learn the basics of counted cross-stitch - finding the middle of your canvas, securing the canvas in your hoop, figuring out where to start, figuring out how to progress through the project, troubleshooting, and managing your floss and pattern.

Time permitting, you'll also learn to do French knots and backstitch to sharpen areas of your design and add fine-line text.

The class price includes a kit with all materials - please bring your own scissors.

PLEASE NOTE: You will need to download the Jiggling Jelly pattern from the DMC website, which requires registering for their site (free).

Land Acknowledgement

We honor the first peoples of our area by acknowledging that our location is within the traditional lands and waters of the following communities: stuləgʷábš, People of the River, Stoluck-wa-mish River Tribe, the Stillaguamish Tribe of Indians; the Tulalip Tribes and their ancestral bands; the Cayuse, Umatilla and Walla Walla peoples; and the Upper Skagit Indian Tribe and its eleven predecessor bands. These groups have inhabited this area for thousands of years; their descendants have remained here, actively practicing and re-establishing traditional activities and beliefs, to this day.
